Social Media and Electronic Communications Policy

As a condition of participation in the Hoffman Ice Hawks Hockey Club ("Club"), all players, coaches, parents, guardians, and family members are expected to comply with this Social Media and Electronic Communications Policy.

The Club will not tolerate any form of electronic communication or social media activity that is determined by the Ice Hawks Rules & Ethics, or designated leadership to be derogatory, hateful, threatening, discriminatory, vengeful, harassing, or otherwise disrespectful toward the Club, its members, coaches, officials, volunteers, opposing teams, hockey organizations, or any other individuals associated with the sport of hockey.

This policy applies to all forms of electronic communication, including but not limited to:

  • Social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, etc.)
  • Text messages
  • Emails
  • Group chats and messaging applications
  • Online forums, blogs, and websites
  • Photographs, videos, and other digital content


Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Posting, sharing, or commenting on content that is negative, inappropriate, derogatory, racist, sexist, discriminatory, threatening, or defamatory toward any Club member, coach, official, volunteer, opposing player, team, or hockey organization
  • Posting photographs, videos, comments, or other content related to fights, penalties, altercations, locker room incidents, or other behavior that reflects negatively on the Club or the sport of hockey
  • Sending texts, emails, messages, or other communications intended to abuse, humiliate, intimidate, harass, or embarrass another person
  • Sharing confidential or private information, including but not limited to personal contact information, medical information, injuries, disciplinary matters, team strategies, or other sensitive information concerning Club members and families
  • Publishing content that could reasonably be considered harmful to the goodwill, reputation, or integrity of the Hoffman Ice Hawks Hockey Club or the amateur hockey community


All members and families are expected to use good judgment when participating in online activities and to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the Club and its values.

Any communication or activity believed to violate this policy will be reviewed by the Club's leadership and/or Rules & Ethics. Violations may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to warnings, suspension, removal from Club activities, expulsion from the Club, and/or referral to AHAI or other governing bodies when appropriate.

By participating in the Hoffman Ice Hawks Hockey Club, all players, coaches, parents, and guardians acknowledge their responsibility to adhere to this policy and uphold the values and reputation of the Club.
