Ice Hawks Tier III House NWHL
The Ice Hawks House Program will compete in the Tier III Northwest Hockey League (NWHL) for the 2026–2027 season.
Our Tier III House Program is designed for players of all skill levels. At age levels that field multiple teams, players will be evenly distributed through a draft process to create balanced and competitive teams.
This program is ideal for athletes who want to enjoy the game of hockey in a fun, developmental, and competitive environment without the financial commitment or demanding schedule of travel hockey. The focus is on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fostering a lifelong love of the game.
The NWHL features teams from throughout the Chicagoland area. League play consists of approximately 50% home games and 50% away games, with travel to rinks across the Chicagoland area varying by division.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Players Double Roster?
During the Fall Season rostered Tier II Travel and Tier III House cannot double roster, however girls who are on an all-girls tier II team may double roster on either or a house or co-ed travel. Additionally, players playing high school can double roster on a Tier II or Tier III team.
Waitlist Players
For NWHL Tier III House, registration is on a first come- first serve basis. We open enough spots to fill one team at a time. You are encouraged to still register if there is a waitlist as there is still a chance we can field additional teams if enough skaters, goalies and coach is secured.
Can I tryout for the Travel team and Register for house evaluations?
Yes. If you are unsure if your child will make a fall travel team, you are encouraged to also registered for the Tier III NWHL Evaluations to save a spot. Space is limited for NWHL teams and once a waitlist starts there is no guarantee of placement. Tryouts and Evaluations are two separate registrations so players who are cut do not automatically get enrolled or spot reserved in our Tier III House Program.
What if my Goalie wants to play out as a Skater too?
Full time goalies are defined as goalies who only play in net. If your player wishes to skate out as well, you should register as a skater and indicate part time goalie on registration fee. It is understood that all teams are budgeted for 2 Full-Time Goalies per team. In the event only 1 goalie exists that goalie would play all the games.
