Ice Hawks Hockey Pathway

Learn to Skate Hockey- Level 1

Learn to Skate Hockey classes are designed for new skaters with little to no skating experience. This class will set the foundation for success by teaching the fundamentals of skating and balance.

Learn to Play- Level 2

Learn to Play Hockey classes will continue to build and expand on the skating fundamentals taught in the Learn to Skate class and also introduce basic puck handling skills.

Cross Ice Skills & Games- Level 3

This program is for players that have passed our Learn to Skate & Learn to Play Hockey classes and is designed to prepare skaters for team play in an environment that fits their skill level.

Registration for these classes are through our HEparks website

Our 8U teams will compete in the CUHL and NWHL leagues based on numbers and skill. This is the official starting point for your journey into real team and league play. League play is 8U, 7U, 6U and 5U (with approval)

The Ice Hawks Tier II Travel teams will compete in the CSDHL Prospect Division, a highly competitive Tier II league for youth hockey teams across Illinois and the Central States region. CSDHL offers divisions from 10U to 18U organized by player birth year (Major or Minor teams) and by level (10U, 12U, 14U, etc.) in their Prospects divisions.

The Ice Hawks Girls Tier II Program is a competitive all‑girls program competing against clubs across Illinois. U8–U19 teams will play in the Midwest Superior Girls Hockey League. are required.

The Ice Hawks Tier III House Program plays in the NWHL, a Tier III Chicagoland travel league that uses a draft system to keep teams balanced. It’s a fun, competitive option for players who want travel-style competition without the full commitment or cost. Registration is first‑come, first‑served, and travel to other rinks is required.
